Ron Hanson removed from meetings in Calgary, Alberta

Ron Hanson was a somewhat senior worker in Saskatchewan until he was removed from the work over an allegation of CSA. He moved to Calgary AB, married, and has had a Sunday am meeting in his home until recently.

He has now been asked to not come to meetings since a new allegation was reported to Calgary Police.

  1. With the news of Ron Hanson and CSA both as a worker and then recently as an Elder; are these just rumours or actual charges?

Curious how after CSA as a worker how he was even allowed to become an elder?

Was there even concerns of CSA when he was a worker in Saskatchewan before he even became a worker in Alberta?

How is it that this religion able to hide these crimes even more do than other religions do?

I really appreciate your assistance in helping protecting others with this issue.

Please contact me as I have so many questions as I was in the faith for many years.

Due to the sensitivity I will call myself Don

    1. Don, you are interested in Ron Hanson, I have some details for you!

This is in response to the letter of Abuse in the Ministry:

There were whispers in the wind of inappropriate behavior involving a young girl in Saskatchewan and now he was making waves in Southern Alberta, it bothered me.
(that was before anyone spoke up about CSA)
We knew her parents as we had lived in their “field”.

In the early 1990’s Worker Ron Hanson had a companion Joshua Tscheter (it might have been Joshua’s first year in the work) they were in our field and staying in our home.
There was jest in the air nightly at our supper table with laughs as well, but then it grew into something more.
Ron belittled Joshua at the supper table at first it was maybe comical but the last night it was so much that I was shocked, unbelievably shocked then disgusted and then very angry. I had never before witnessed that kind of behavior coming from someone in “the work”.

After they left I vowed to my family that I would never again sit or stand for that kind of abuse in my home. I should have told him to pack his bags and leave at once. But we were raised not to question workers. I wasn’t our place etc…..

Then in the gospel meetings we sang Hymn #84 Follow me, follow me ….every meeting. I lost the vision and began to hear Follow Ron…..
Not long after that he was out of the work with no explanation someone said “he just didn’t show up at convention he was lazy you know”

I will remain nameless as we have multiple CSA victims within our family.

  2. Yes he was removed from the work because of CSA I was in the work at the time, on the same staff. It was deeply hidden – at the urgent request of a fellow brother worker, who got his say and way. Ron was never removed from meetings or faced any other consequences. I will just say I think he has never stopped his behaviour, gotten away with it for years. I left the work largely because of the corruption I saw in this case and other ‘things’ that were going on. And yes, I am still attending meetings, focusing on Jesus not on any man

  3. When Ron Hanson was in the work, in Calgary, in the early 1990s he was having an intimate affair with one of the [Redacted] girls at the time. He never got caught. We all knew about it, but no one ever dared to mention it. His companion who later went on to labour for many years in Vietnam, Darrel Turner was in on it to.
