Kent, it has come to my attention that a Jay Wilson survivor, [Name1 redacted], has emailed you THIRTEEN times. Rob, I understand you have been cc’d on two of those. It is my understanding B has not received one response from either one of you. You are walking by the wounded and bleeding in the ditch. I’m not sure how you sleep at night.

Regarding the [Name2 redacted] allegation – no, the facts of the allegation do not need to be clarified. There is no mistake and the survivor is not an undependable source. I have confirmation [redacted] (will) further corroborate the facts of this allegation. You should know by now that I do not release the name of an alleged perpetrator unless I am confident in the merits of the allegation.

I am astounded at the lack of humanity on the part of the ministry. Surely you can do better.

Cynthia,

For a number of reasons, this will be our final response to your communications. If you have information about past or ongoing criminal activity, we implore you to report it to the proper authorities. We remain willing, as always, to cooperate with the authorities in any investigations which are the result of your reports. If you choose to send us adequate details, we will report it to the authorities.

Rob

WINGS absolutely supports the reporting of allegations to authorities. That is necessary and appropriate. However it is not sufficient. Counselling and support for the victim and close family is necessary. The local and wider Church needs clear communication, to protect families and the integrity of all members, and in contemplation that there may be other victims. The alleged perpetrator should not attend meetings where the victim or their family or any other children may be present. The Church can not pass all responsibility to law enforcement agencies. The front line of responsibility lies with families and Church leadership – elders, workers and overseers.

Failure to act is being an accessory to a crime. Protecting children should be a priority.

  1. The above response is very similar to the one Overseer Kelvin Naef (Florida & Georgia) and ex-Overseer Scott Rauscher (Wyoming & Montana – before his porn viewing surfaced) told the people in their respective states. This must be the cult leadership’s new strategy (i.e. shut up and go away).

  2. The response from Newman and Williston is a pure crap response. And the other amazing point, is PEOPLE still abide what they say, the positions they take and their arrogance and fake humility. How is it, with all the crap that has come out, that these clowns and other in management have ANY credibility? Seriously sheeple, WAKE THE —- UP!

  3. Nothing will be done. Reporting to authorities is correct. However those victims who need fellowship deserve it without the risk being triggered by a perp or otherwise exposed to a perp.

This what these workers cant accept. The obscure aversion to acknowledgment of “bad news” within the Church is one part of the problem and the other is the expectation of complete forgiveness without restitution from the perp.

Restitution is NOT saying sorry and neither is it taking a short break. It is however taking it upon themselves to remove the risk, temptation, fear and triggering that they themselves cause victims by PROACTIVELY and WILLINGLY removing themselves from regular fellowship.

Restitution in my opinion is taking the bitter pill and removing oneself permanently from fellowship. These people don’t GET HEALED.

If we truly believe in the greatness and infinite ability of God we can believe that a person outside of fellowship can lead a fulfilling life with God. If the perp has truly repented the Father can and will forgive and will feed that person even if outside of fellowship.

So consider any acceptance of a perp as a liability that is to be managed.

The workers are NOT the representatives of God endowed with HIS authority. NO!!!!!

  4. I am a survivor of CSA by Don Reynolds when I was 14. I can speak from my experience the church has been no help to me. Barry Barkley even stated in one email that we are miles apart. He said to contact AFTT for assistance I am grateful for Cynthia and the AFTT team. It is a shame that a church that wants to be identified as the Truth. In my experience cannot be trusted to even contact law enforcement. This email exchange don’t surprise this survivors.

    1. The reason Don Reynolds hasn’t contacted law-enforcement is because he’s not sorry for what he had done to all the children all over the globe! He’s a sick man, and should be in a box with no windows!! Barry, right there with him, because he KNEW, and sent him all over the place.

      1. One can probably add Overseer Harger (Michigan, Ohio, Indiana) to the Barry/Reynolds brotherhood for allowing Reynolds to continue to attend meetings and other cult events such as potlucks and funerals in these states. Also, one can include all the current cult members in these state for supporting Overseer Harger – if they support him, they in turn support Reynolds. The cult clearly has more concern for peds and perps than it does for CSA and SA victims.

      2. @henoffour, as usual you have most of us at a great disadvantage. You apparently know I lot about this case or you would not make the accusations against Barry that you do. We don’t need to know all of the details, but it would be useful and add credibility to your charges to know approximately when this CSA became known , or at least reported to Barry and how many places he moved Don Reynolds to after that?

thank you, if I am asking too much, just ignore.

      3. @Amen – the Authorities have been notified, and it would only hurt the ongoing cases if I were to post things on this public site. I appreciate your concern for the victims, but your requests are not helpful.

  5. Not sure why Rob does not respond.  Kent is to busy looking in the mirror telling himself how wonderful he is. This is never ever going to go away until all the so called overseers quit. No shepherds here, we have one Great Shepherd, Jesus Christ.

    1. @PD – it’s my understanding that Rob can barely stand on his own – his health is terrible, and Kent is now in the same facility as Rob was, because he’s needing rest or not mentally capable any longer? Regardless, this is a terrible response. Rob YOU helped create this mess, so YOU don’t get to just walk away! Put on your big boy boxers and figure out that God is NOT happy with YOU or your stance on dealing with criminals. Get your Bible out, and start actually READING it!! The scripture is very clear that predators have NO PLACE in the kingdom. No amount of tears shed, no amount of pleading, no amount of lies, no amount of offering “I’m sorry’s”…that answer is NO! You go turn yourself in to law enforcement, and it doesn’t matter what century you committed the crime, go tell them what you did, because that’s the LAW. Then, there’s 7 more steps once you do that first one. PERIOD. NO OPTIONS. NO SKIPPING A STEP!!

  6. Somehow the overseers seem to think that God said that there is no consequences for sin.
He offers forgiveness but never says that there won’t be consequences.

    1. Exactly! Even the thieves on the cross learned there were consequences. Jesus could have taken them both off the cross had he thought it okay to do so, but there are natural consequences for immoral natural decisions. This can NOT be confused as a “sin”, it’s a sin, but it’s a crime!

  7. What is it with people that they are so blind that they can’t see these guys for what they are? Or, doesn’t it even matter anymore, people will just follow them because they are the “leaders”?

Rob Newman was the prime character that worked so hard to get self confessed paedophile and worker, Gilbert Smith, back in meetings where children would be present.

“Rob and Richard took a vote of the 11 elders as to who would be willing to have this known and confessed perpetrator in their Sunday meeting.

    • 4 elders voted NO.
    • 2 elders said that they wanted to asked their meetings.
    • 5 elders voted Yes.

It was determined based on this minority vote of 5/11 that this known and confessed (of some of his abuses) perpetrator, is now allowed to attend meeting in the Sacramento area”.

Then last year Kent reported Rob Newman was in a “mental health facility”

( BY WINGSFORTRUTH2Update from Kent Williston re CA, NV, AZ, Hl, and Guam)

“Dear friends and fellow workers in CA, NV, AZ, Hl, and Guam,

As our special meeting days approach it seems good to send out an update regarding a number of changes on the staff.

Brian Buckingham, Kelsay Yung and Robyn Hill are currently resting from the work.

Rob Newman is presently in a mental health facility in central California…”.

Is there ANYONE with good mental fortitude and of good moral courage and solid Christian values that can lead? Or, is this not what people are seeking in their religious leaders?

If there is a victim, a person who is in need due to the evil actions of others. Ignore them. Completely put them on an island. Don’t respond to their pleadings. Now, on the other hand, the sexual. predator, let’s go to all the trouble of getting 11 elders together, in a secret meeting, to get the predator reinstated! This makes no sense. These leaders make no sense, but for the one thing that matters the most, my spiritual life, I will follow them. That makes no sense.

    1. Makes ‘no’ sense: Yes, your response to their letter of Sept. 23; is ‘reality”. How ‘o’ How do they think they NEED “a good ‘Mental Health Facility’ to flee to and hide-in: ((regardless of the very high cost))when they have NO Concern nor NO Responsibility for their “Victims” deep needs. (We sure Hope that facility has the Responsibility of “reporting to the FBI”). It is a known fact that those who are busy helping, protecting and providing for the deep needs of others ARE not “narcissistic ” (= addicted to self). WHAT cop-out!

Yes, the very hard fact of all their criminal behavior and successful sweeping under the rug: NOW they need sympathy??!! AND Help??!!

AND YET: The masses STILL ‘trust them with the thing THAT Matters the Most’ : their “spiritual life”. ==. Oh, I just so love my ‘fellowship’! I cannot turn my back on my little group! AND HOW MANY are trouping to be at “Gospel Meeting”? AND turn their back on “Victims”!!!

OH, where do they turn to??? How about actually reading Your Holy Bible as actually written??!! Then take off-your meeting-glasses and actually study ‘word’ for ‘word’ as written. Did you say you need Help? There is a Rancher; who has no church or denomination::: Just goes through Our Bible as written – word for word. Through the Bible with Les Feldick: You can access his 30 minute lessons on his web site or on UTUBE. (( Yes he learned as he learned the Bible as written “religion” does NOT KNOW God according to God’s Word!)

Yes, we have found, against all we were ever told: “that the Bible is hard to understand” — that we are NOT supposed to Understand; is actually not True. 1 Corinthians 2:5 – :your faith should stand in the “Power” of God! (not in the wisdom of men)… AND you just READ verses :6 – :11. yes, what an assurance !!! Yes, Even “the Deep things of God”. Oh, what a Joy to really understand how deep and full God’s Love and plan in the “Dispensation of the Gospel of the Grace of God”: that God, Now has for us. Romans 3:21 – :27 explains ‘But Now’ the great Joy and Love in God’s plan –“”which from the beginning of the world….HATH BEEN HID… in God Ephesians 3:1 – :9 – the grace of God which is given me ‘to you ward’ – :2

    2. It’s my understanding that now Kent is in the same mental facility as Rob was. Maybe they should take a hint, that God is not happy with them!

  8. This is just another kick in the gut to the people of this faith. It’s a “I don’t care of someone sexually abuses you” statement. Because, Cynthia has done more good for the people of our faith than ANY overseer! I hope you both get arrested soon Rob & Kent, and then you will have all kinds of time to mull over how not reading your Bible was a detriment to your leadership. You thought you could just skip to the top without knowledge, and reign terror down on the people with your ignorance intact.

I am SO thankful for Cynthia, Lauren, and Sheri for their help and courage. I’m also thankful for Kyle & Kari Hanks, and Mike & Abbi Prussack for all their work and help, and there’s been many more that have put in countless hours to push for help for the victims of this ministry. These people didn’t tear our fellowship apart…the MINISTRY did!!!
