Paul,
That’s very disappointing that your fear of the internet came before the care of survivors. I would hope that your words could be as such that if it were to be posted online it would show your commitment to survivors and safe fellowship. Again, transparency is key. I do not understand the fear of your words being posted online, you should be able to stand behind them no matter who reads them. It’s cowardly. Jesus was willing to be crucified for what he said. Stephen and Paul were stoned. Peter was imprisoned. If you’re not ashamed of your position, why are you afraid to stand behind it?

Perry Paul, Caleb and Bruce,

Just wanted to send a quick note to express my great disappointment that not a one of you could be bothered to reply to my email regarding [redacted]. Perry, I don’t believe you were cc’ed on the email as you were still resting at the time. Even just a brief acknowledgment would’ve been appreciated. This is deeply hurtful. If you want to even pretend to care about survivors of abuse within the fellowship might I suggest not ignoring the pleas of survivors. There are a lot of resources available that can help educate you on being trauma informed, please look into them before you continue to do further harm to victims. I did hear through the grapevine that the decision to keep [redacted] out of meeting was upheld. That should’ve been communicated to not only me but the entire state. Transparency and communication is so vital. Do better. Thank you.

  1. Seems that people do not know what “please don’t forward” means and they still demand written answers even though they don’t respect the request.

    1. A victim survivor requested an update on their abuser and was not respected. I think that’s the bigger issue.

    2. Seems you missed the point entirely. You don’t get to be in a place of authority, ignore survivors and think you don’t have to have any accountability just because you tacked “don’t forward” onto the bottom of your email.

    3. @interesting – your response is very callous. Any overseer that has been aware of the criminal behavior of so many of their peers, and has nothing personally to hide, will without request offer transparency. This victim-should have been shown the utmost respect, by the ones who have been controlling the information! Every single person in their jurisdiction should know exactly what is going on. The reason YOU and so many others think “it’s not that big a deal”, is you are unaware on the magnitude (this is far bigger than anything we saw with the Catholic Church), and I’m guessing YOU are one of the fortunate ones who slipped through the cracks and weren’t sexually abused. The other reason this has gone on so long, and with such huge consequence has been the secrecy of the ministry, and the 70-90 yo people being snookered into thinking these men & women can be trusted implicitly to “do the right thing”. I’m not claiming that every minister in our faith is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, but it’s becoming more and more apparent that most of them are not trustworthy. YOU may think you can spot any abuser…you can not. They are your good friends, your family members, the many workers you’ve trusted…many whom have sat around the dining table in YOUR home, while seeking an opportunity to harm.

You should, as a Christian, be very careful about your words, and how they can be used as a weapon to further abuse victims. Any victim that reads your response will be affected, and certainly not in a good way! Read Luke 10 starting in the 29th verse. It’s a very good example of what your response SHOULD look like.

I won’t be a bit surprised if these three men are found to be abusers in some capacity (we see hints of it by their ignorant response to this victim).

    Please do not forward.
    Paul”

Maybe if Paul had not “neglected” his duty to respond, this correspondence would have stayed off the Internet.

    1. @Just Respond Next Time – Exactly! But, his conscience probably won’t allow him to, because like Scott Rauscher and the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of others listed as predators, this man probably has skeletons in his closet. He would not be reacting this way if he didn’t!

  3. I am a parent living in the ND/SD region and I have been extremely disappointed in the leadership of our region. I’m so proud of this victim for calling Paul out. Communication in our state has been terrible. He does not work with Cynthia, the private investigator. He has no interest in putting in place any type of CSA policy because then that would cause there to be accountability. There have been zero changes (that I’m aware of), since this all blew up a year ago.
Even though this fellowship is something we have known our whole life, my spouse and I will not be raising our children in a system ruled by men, who refuse to listen and change what needs to be changed, even when the ugliest of ugliest sins (sexual abuse against children), comes to light, and the magnitude of the abuse is so big that the FBI is involved.
Thank you, victim, for using your voice.

    1. @AParent – thank you for your kindness towards this victim-survivor.
There’s good chance your Overseer is hiding a multitude of abuse of his own, and of his staff. Thankfully, you can’t hide stuff like this from a government agency that has been watching us for decades. Like Darryl Doland said, “they knew everything about me”.

To any victim-survivors in your region, please, contact the FBI. Many in your state may be unaware of their request for victims to come forward and report. Don’t fret if you didn’t get the email, just call their Oklahoma Office and tell them you are from the 2×2 church, or go to Advocates For The Truth website and the link is on their site.

Everyone that’s had a visit from the FBI agents, have commented about how kind and professional they have been. Although we greatly appreciate all of Cynthia, Lauren, Sheri, and Dr. Bolin’s help, the FBI needs to hear from EVERY victim that can. Even if a worker told you not to, for whatever excuse was used…keep in mind: they aren’t being honest with the victims. The scriptures they have used have been taken out of context in an effort to humiliate the victims.  If you need support to go through the process, please contact AFTT and they will help you get the experts involved that you need to support you through the process.

  4. Henoffour is right again! “The reason YOU and so many others think “it’s not that big a deal”, is you are unaware on the magnitude (this is far bigger than anything we saw with the Catholic Church), and I’m guessing YOU are one of the fortunate ones who slipped through the cracks and weren’t sexually abused”.

Also, henoffour said, “To any victim-survivors in your region, please, contact the FBI. Many in your state may be unaware of their request for victims to come forward and report”. Victims, you can help other people who have been victims themselves. When you report you are providing evidence to support and prove the truth of derelict people who feed off of the innocence of others. You can help other people by stopping this unwarranted and unwanted behavior.

In my small orbit alone there are at least three people that have, or will be soon, reporting to the FBI. YOU can make a difference with your voice at this time. Please be strong. Please fill out the short form with your information of 7000 characters or less. It is very simple. You can help other people now.

    1. @Please say what you know! – Thank you! We appreciate every person who loves these victims like Jesus and God do. They deserve the opportunity to be heard!

For those still afraid to come forward, Advocates For The Truth has access to amazing trauma help, and anyone can have access. They can even provide support through the FBI process to make it a safer task. We love all of you, and want to see you free to enjoy life as you move forward.
