Hazel Williams steps aside

Good morning everyone.

This morning, it’s with a very heavy heart that I send this message to you all.

We need to pass on a little note to everyone. to say that Hazel feels that it’s time for her to step aside from the work, partly because there has been an allegation brought against her. from many years ago, so in this time of stress, it seems that, this is the best decision to make. We’re very sorry that she has had to come to this decision, but we do agree that it’s probably the best choice for her right now.

Your brother, Carson

WINGS Note: Issued by oveseer Carson Wallace.

Hazel has been assigned to various fields in Ontario, Canada since 1970s.

Note: Carson subsequently advised that the allegation was not CSA. See Carson Wallace – additional information re Hazel Williams

  1. This makes me sad to read this. I really like Hazel. But good for her for stepping down while things get sorted out. .

  2. You are sorry she has to step aside because of CSA allegations? This is a good thing not a bad thing isn’t it? Do we really want workers speaking to us with CSA allegations? Is there no consequence to workers for illegal behavior?
I am sorry that the victim has been dealing with this for so many years. I am sorry that the healing did not start sooner for them. I am sorry that yet another worker couldn’t be honest and come forward themselves many years ago when this happened and step down then. I am sorry there is no thought to the victim in this announcement. I grieve with you.
We all know that the CSA statistics show that reported allegations are very rarely untrue. Just the fact that someone felt I need to report shows they were uncomfortable with whatever did happen. I am sad that there is no thought of remorse for what the victim has suffered from the overseer or Hazel in this letter.
Have we really gained nothing in the last 6 months about helping to heal the CSA victims by being truly honest, transparent, and repentant?
Please Carson show us this is not true. Please write a second letter, showing some sort of care and compassion and love towards the victim that report this CSA alligation instead of just sympathizing with Hazel. How does it make sense for you to be an overseer or in the work when you express no compassion to the victim? The very love that you claim and speak of Jesus modeling in the ministry. It’s one of his commandments.
I am a very shocked, and saddened saint. Just when I begin to feel hope for the fellowship, it is made clear by letters like this that more people in authority need to step down from those positions before anything can really change.
My hope and love is in Christ and God’s plan alone.
Hazel and Carson showing no compassion for the reporting victim or remorse for such actions certainly can’t be part of it, can it??
Waiting for trust in the ministry leading us to be rebuilt.

    1. Another leaving the 1 for the 99. The fear of man and earthly justice is greater than Gods. Man’s word made flesh ministry.

    2. We had a second email stating it was not CSA.
However, whatever the allegation I will take the victims side every time

    3. The allegation was not CSA. Always good to not assume things. Although it should have been stated initially, that has been clarified by Carson’s second letter.

  3. How can trust that has been shattered into tiny fragments be rebuilt?  What do you envision that to look like? And will the majority of the membership just continue to close their eyes to the evil and deviant behavior of so many?

    1. Marsha, I don’t think there’s a “majority” with their eyes closed, and we are NOT accepting any type of abuse, no matter what took place. The struggle is, getting rid of the overseers. For some reason these men (perhaps they were in cahoots with the predators?) are not willing to shut out those who choose to prey on other humans. Most that are under their rule are hoping for every single predator to be banned. Except a few of the older folks who are mistaken when they feel allowing the predators to attend is part of the foregivness process. It isn’t, and can’t be! “How can we trust…” by trying the Spirit of the ones that are still present and doing what they can to help the victim/survivors.

      1. Marsha is absolutely spot on. The cult mentality from top to bottom is “hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil”. There have been many perps and peds over the decades that did whatever evil they desired in this sick cult because they knew nobody would believe the victims. It is just not the overseerers that are to blame – the guilty are legion, and maybe anyone who still provides any type of support for this outfit.

      2. The overseers/ head worker/ top dog will never be let go. This position is here is stay, as long as there are mindless minions to support them. This position was established by William Irvine. Those that came after William Irvine loved the status and will never relinquish that status of “head worker”. …”The struggle is, getting rid of the overseers. For some reason these men (perhaps they were in cahoots with the predators?) are not willing to shut out those who choose to prey on other humans”.

      3. @Don’t Fence Me In – Simply not true. Just because there’s a few rotten apples, doesn’t make everyone rotten. Amy Thompson posted on Wings For Truth about the secrecy that was being kept about Dean, so the workers could spread the information as they saw fit! She was also lamenting myself and a few others that posted the Clackamas County Sheriff’s information on “social media”, and more or less made out like WE had caused this issue to explode like it did. How sick is that!!!
The ability of the overseers, and those in the ministry, ability to hide information from the congregation is outrageous.
The families of victims were threatened to keep quiet, so even they didn’t share with others what they were going through. Had they, the majority could have known, AND there wouldn’t be as many victims!!
Your insinuation that “all are guilty”, would make as much sense as stating everyone in America is guilty in the whole country because we all know that child trafficking is happening at an outrageous rate, and because YOU, nor anyone else seems to be up in arms about it, it’s allowed to continue. So, are YOU financially responsible?
Pedophilia isn’t a choice of the children who are victims, but it certainly is of the parents/family members/ministry who are choosing to keep it quiet, because if the first victim’s family doesn’t say anything…it allows for more victims. Parents are the ones who are the first line of defence. I didn’t care where we were, I knew exactly where my kids were. Sometimes they were getting into trouble with other kids, but as long as it didn’t harm anyone…I let them learn the hard way. But, I still kept watch. If another adult showed up, then I quickly made myself known. If I was places and saw an adult abuse a child (mine or not) I would pounce, and turn them in. Besides my 4 children, I have close to 40 individuals who consider me “my other mom”. Every child belongs to God, and I take it personal when someone innocent has been touched by evil – child or adult!

@Head Workers – I agree, there are some still unaware of what has taken place and they are continuing to support these men (they are generally the older generations who do not use the internet, because they aren’t savvy enough to figure it out. I have printed a lot of material to help them understand). Many within the ministry KNOW there shouldn’t be an overseer anywhere…I certainly know that to be the case, because there’s absolutely no scripture to support it. I will continue to push for that change! What effort did YOU put in to help? Or did you just run away and start lobbing ugly insults, which help no one?

    1. Heather, again, as I indicated above. The fact that Hazel Williams’ sexual assaults were not inflicted on a child does not make them any more acceptable. Please give this some thought.

  4. Marsha Ransom — “How can trust that has been shattered into tiny fragments be rebuilt?” Marsha, I am in total agreement. I know you and your family well. I knew your mother and father in law. You and your family are good people. The story I have told about spiritual abuse, shattered our family and we wondered how to rebuild. I was belittled on this site for my comments about that abuse. Until ALL abuses are dealt with, there is no longer a foundation. When there’s no foundation, there is no longer a house. What is being witnessed is the house coming down. Marsha, I am glad your father in law, Boyd, isn’t here to witness this.

  5. This site did not start a decade ago because everything was right in the church. It was started to give the victims a voice. If you think a worker raping a 9 year old boy or girl is okay – then you are as sick as the ministry. The ministry and many in the fellowship are complicit of covering the evil. The ministry is without education and the elders are without education. Taking a 30 minute on line class is not education. Many of us have had to became educated because we trusted a false ministry and our children became victims. My childs predator had a 30 year history of molesting little boys. Their companions knew , the overseer knew- nobody felt the parents knew. So please do not act like the ministry is innocent.

    1. WINGS was established in 2008 because the data then already established that there were serious CSA and other abuse issues. The flood of information in 2023 doesn’t actually illuminate anything new…..this is an old problem.

  6. 8 years ago I had a respected elder tell me that if all the men, in the ministry, had to be innocent of any sexual misconduct there would not be enough men left for the ministry. 30 years ago a woman worker, I respected, said if the guidelines for elders was followed there would not be enough elders.
If you think this is a healthy Christ like enviroment please read you Bible. These compromising attitudes have led to ? The presence of God and Christ appear to be gone.
We will continue to pray pray for those who love our heavenly Father and Christ. We will be praying for honest ministries. Yes , God does speak to us.

  7. Its unbelievable, really. So many who I either worked with or shared meetings with at convention or special meetings – and I have to wonder – are ANY of these workers worth anything (sorry but that IS how I am feeling). I am a literalist and so when I was in the work I literally believed the vows and promises I made and literally believed that if Jesus said it, He did it, and so will I!! I take the Word of God LITERALLY. Doesnt anyone else or am I the odd man(woman) out????

    1. I thought we had the highest standards and the highest standards were upheld and honored. Worlds laws are a higher standard. The church down on the corner has higher standards. Prison inmates have higher standards. Schools and youth sports have higher standards. My job has higher standards. By whose spirit did we approve of these overseers, workers or elders?? Politics, convenience, culture, traditions, evilness, laziness, narcissism, nepotism, pedos protecting pedos, exclusivity and on and on

    2. Sharon D:  We want to encourage you.  Do NOT apologize for your righteous judgement and deep concern for the CSA/SA Abuse and continued re-abuse of the victims by the “system”.  Do not feel bad for rejecting the actions and complete complicity of the ministry and many “members” for their gross, heinous criminal life style.  Do not feel bad for rejecting the “system” mishandling of basic human dignity in their denial of their criminal actions and denial of..  Your reaction is “support” for the victims.
For your healing:  Consider this:  Is it possible that God’s timing IS to reveal a very flawed Man made ‘tradition’ based on wiles of satan.?  You must continue to be honest with yourself, as you seek God and continue to be a “Literalist”.  Ask God to guide you.
If you were a worker and kept the vows and promises you made; it was not because the vows you made were following Jesus or His example.  It was not because you were following Jesus’ 12 ‘apostles’ whom Jesus sent as His witnesses.  Or you have a different Holy Bible than we have from Alan/Oxford.  YES, it is the acceptable:  black leather Cover!  ((You need to read each word for word: Yes; it is in English.))
“If Jesus said it, He did it, and so will I!!!”  It is impossible for you to do what Jesus SAID and DID!  You do NOT know who he ‘was’ – or – ‘is’ – or ‘will be’!  (( Colossians 1:13 – :18)). You do not know to whom Jesus ministered.  You do not know to whom Jesus sent His 12 chosen apostles.  You do not know Jesus’ Doctrine.
You do not know what Jesus taught.
You do not know what Jesus spake to the 11 “just before he was parted from them and carried up into heaven”.
You do not know what the 11 did, THEN.
You do not know what the 12 preached in their first mission, nor why!
You do not know the Doctrine of His sent 12 Apostle who were given the ‘comforter’ after Jesus was crucified.
You literally do NOT know God’s Word as written or you are NOT a 2×2!
Oh, our hearts cry for your distress.  It is brutal to have a commitment of our very body, soul, and spirit destroyed.
We have been there; done that!  AND a whole-lot-of-“unlearning” is very painful when one is “an all in”  “has been”.  Spend your time and effort in really reading what God really writes in our Bible. 1 Peter1:11, 2 Peter1:27
BUT every day, time and again, we thank God for being made aware of our ‘complete ignorance’ of God’s Word.  We feel our ‘learning has just begun’.   We had only known ‘phrases and words’; and concepts that only 2×2’s with special glasses were privileged  to wear and worship .  Those glasses have now been thrown on the ‘dust-bin’ of history.
Please, Sharon: You will have healing only when you are able literally to read God’s Word as written.  AND when the “light-bulb” goes on as you read “what God has really written for our learning” and then to really           “understand what God has written for our ‘obedience’”.  Yes, there is a difference.  God tried to ‘enfold’ His chosen Nation of Israel from Genesis 12: through Acts 12:.  They would not!  God then set them aside for a season.  Romans 11:7-:11. Israel blinded   WHY?  :11-“:15 and  result will be     :25 – :27. which is YET future.  Paul well explains “the fullness of the Gentiles” in his ministry..  It is for our “obedience” and we are grateful for God’s timing.  Learning and Knowing what is really written for us in
Ephesians 3:1-:9 and explained as Paul writes to each of His ‘churches’ of the fulness of the Grace of God made possible through the “Faith of Christ”.

  8. I am sorry I misunderstood the allegations for CSA, and am glad it has been clarified by another letter.
Let us remember though, this site was established for communication about CSA allegations.

Trust may not be able to be rebuilt. This is just my hope because I love meeting with people that have truly served God alone within the fellowship.

If there is any hope, I agree with DB laptop the fellowship must be cleansed of evil doers and safeguarded. Similar to our schools, medical facilities, and work places (etc…). How can we continue to choose to go to a church that is less safe then these places?

In my opinion, at least these steps need to happen for the victims sake (which I grieve for and with), and the protection of the children.
    1. The CSA perps (or accused), and SA evildoers must step down from any leadership roles and aside for good from participation in any of the meetings. No exceptions.
    2. Those that have supported CSA and SA at any point also need to step down from any leadership roles regardless  of their past lack of education.
    3. There must be consequences in the church and/or according to the laws of the land for illegal/immoral behavior. A third-party specializing in helping with CSA and SA within churches needs to help establish guidelines around handling these situations in the fellowship, and they must be followed. Those not following them need to be asked to step down.
    4. The whole process of all of these steps needs to be very open and transparent to everyone continually.

Obviously, these are just some ideas, trust may not ever be able to be rebuilt in the fellowship.

If I have learned and been reminded of anything from this historical abuse in the fellowship; it has been to always look to and trust Jesus and God for examples and wisdom, not man. Serving God alone. This is something we can all choose to do everyday if we want to, no matter where we go to church.

  9. Beholder

I do apologize for my wrong assumption, but this site had primarily been established to discuss CSA and SA.

Is any illegal behavior in the fellowship ok? I wonder if any of us will ever know what the allegation is?

    1. Hazel inflicted repeated incidents of sexual assault on a 19 year old, new female Worker. Hazel was 40+ at the time of the incidents. The victim has identified herself however, it’s not my place to share her identity here. Hazel continues to attend and participate in meetings (not as a Worker). My question is simply, “how is this acceptable?”.

      1. Trust rebuilt
I’m pretty sure wings is agreeable to post about abuse of any kind, and this is how it should be.
A 19 year old a 17 year old or a 30 year old, all can have devastating effects.

      2. Thank you, for that clarification. Hazel should be banned from ALL participation and attendance. ZERO tolerance needs to and MUST be our standard!

  10. Truth?

So sad, honest hearts just don’t step down when needed. I say, so let it be few and far between at least they would be trustworthy. It’s not about quantity, it’s about quality.

It’s more important. Restructure the fellowship with those we can trust will follow new safeguards in the fellowship around CSA and SA, or any type of abuse for that matter. Leaders of any sort that are condoning or participating in any of these abusive behaviors are not led by God anyway.

  11. This worker isn’t the only one to be abusive to their companion or those in the fellowship. I think it odd that the focus is only on the men in the ministry and elders right now, when abuse of any kind should be being addressed. Sister workers fight physically, mental abuse is rampant, and so is sexual abuse of their companions. Brother workers abuse each other too. So, our ministry has become very toxic and sick. I’m thankful for those who have chosen to follow Jesus and are just preaching the Gospel and bringing the Spirit of Peace into our homes. They aren’t sneaking around our homes to try to find fault with us (like I experienced in North Carolina – they never found anything, but it was still a violation of our privacy when I caught them in my bedroom going through our things), we’ve had some very deep and meaningful conversations, and they are solidly fighting along side us against abuse. If you have been abused or are currently being abused, and are feeling like you aren’t being heard, please feel free to reach out. If you just need an ear, I’m here. Keep praying, and believing because God is listening. We continue to reach out to everyone we can, and whether you attend meetings or not, we still respect your efforts to seek God however you are seeking that you can know peace and joy in your life. That’s what God wants for ALL his children! When we come to realize that God loves every soul, and is not a respector of persons to those who choose to follow His Son, our hearts only grow and our love grows deeper, for a God who is so patient and loving with us.

  12. Hearing Hazel is back in her old field in ontairo. Apparently a quick time out in the corner and all is forgiven

    1. Despite resistance, she was given little choice but to step down. Your comment suggests she has returned to the work. It would be important to know if this is in fact true.

  13. Even as a relative of HW, my view is that she shouldn’t be going back into the work. She indicates a deficiency of compassion and empathy. Of course, that could be a feature of the work, not a bug.

    1. Please speak up to your overseer, and any that will listen, and don’t let up!
Your comment is appreciated…family often knows more than anyone else!

  14. Hazel’s grandfather was a child molester. He molested her cousin at around age 5 (this is first hand information from her cousin to me). These things are never a one-off so the likelihood of Hazel being molested by her creep grandfather is pretty high, particularly as he would have had more access to her than to her cousin who lived further away.

That doesn’t excuse Hazel’s abuse of a young companion, but it does provide some background. Hazel needs professional help and should seek it out now. She has long been messed up on sexual issues.
