A letter from Perry

Dear friends in the Dakotas,

I have not been sleeping well this summer. Various remedies thus far have not resolved the problem.

I will be taking a rest to address this matter. I will be staying with my family in Wl to rest.

For any immediate needs, please reach out to Paul Haakenson or any of the Dakota workers.

With appreciation,

A brother, Perry

  1. Perry Pearson is filled with self pity because he cannot sleep. He makes no mention of the victims of child sexual abuse, victims who endure years of nightmares and sleepless nights. Perry can rest…but these victims never rest from their trauma.

  2. It would be nice if the victims could just walk away too. Walk away from the problems created by The covers and powers to be.

  3. Not sure its self-pity. I think it’s his healthy conscience as he has internalized the pain and suffering of others. The ones we need to worry about are those in the ministry that allowed and did nothing about the abuse and were in position to report and stop further abuse. They seem to carry on like nothing happened. (Ray, Barry, Dale) JMO.

    1. Perry was a big-time supporter of child molesters when he was in the Appleton, Wisconsin area before going to Dakota. His support of these perverts caused some longtime members to even leave the group. Furthermore, Perry did not say one thing in his letter about any concern for his “pain and suffering for others”.

      1. So it was my way or the highway huh….they’ll all look good RESTING IN JAIL!
or others comments that were associated with the top workes

Pillars, God’s anointed, BRother, Workers of peace…..there were soooo many phases that I’ve heard over my lifetime…

    2. Someone with a “healthy conscience “ would not retreat in the midst of this huge crisis. As overseer, Perry had more power than anyone in the Dakotas to denounce the evil and make positive changes to create a safe environment for all, especially vulnerable children.
If he has “internalized the pain and suffering of others” why has Perry not stayed to comfort and counsel victims? Perhaps it is because he does not know how. From first hand experience, I observed little, if any, comfort from Perry to the grieving family of a long time professing member.
This group would do well to require its leaders to attend Christian counseling courses at a good theological college.

      1. Dear In Prayer, actually, I can’t understand how ANY worker COULD stay in the work with all that God has brought to light about the CSA/SA crimes that have been commited and covered for decades~

      2. Mary Lou, Nor can I understand how ANY person could remain a member of this group with its sordid past of history coverup and now CSA/SA crimes and coverup.

  4. I agree. This is not a notification undermining victims. He just letting them and anyone know who to reach out to instead of him and why. If he didn’t say why we would be criticizing him or wondering why he wasn’t transparent with more details. In the past, if someone in the Dakotas was looking to talk to someone, they would have to make multiple calls to find the right person. He took that out of the equation. Yes I think it shows that he is not being able to live with the current situation very well, that’s for sure.

Maybe it’s helpful to look for the tiny carrots of goodness, when so many obvious boulders of destruction have been rapid in the fellowship. This doesn’t seem to be one of those boulders, unless I am unaware of how he has contributed.

    1. Perry writes, “For any immediate needs, please reach out to Paul Haakenson or any of the Dakota workers”. TR writes, “In the past, if someone in the Dakotas was looking to talk to someone, they would have to make multiple calls to find the right person. He took that out of the equation”. If it took multiple phone calls to find Perry, how will these people not have to make multiple phone calls to find Paul?

  5. Perry, follow the teacher, Jesus Christ, and the lessons He gave for every single life issue, and you can sleep at night. Perry, when you follow the advice of some lawyer dressed up in a suit like you have, you won’t sleep at night. It’s that simple. Perry, you wrote (MAY 26, 2023 BY WINGSFORTRUTH2
Perry Pearson clarification re Eric Nelson), “In trying to establish a standard practice for CSA, I sought legal counsel. It was legally advised that we restrict alleged perpetrators from ALL fellowship for a “specified length of time”. It was suggested that 6 months to a year would be appropriate to see what information is gathered. If there is a court case, there will be clear legal guidelines and restrictions for fellowship. If there isn’t a court case, then we will have to decide what is appropriate moving forward”. Lawyers ALWAYS look for loopholes, or an ambiguity or inadequacy in the law or a set of rules, or what is “appropriate”. What is appropriate? Probably your “discernment”. This where you, and most, if not all head workers went astray and betrayed the people that were to be serving. You and the other “leaders” looked for loopholes in the rules. Trouble is, you look for ways around the rules to suit your own interests, or those of your buddies and you let the wolf into the sheep safe haven, and it is a blood bath. And then you don’t sleep at night, because if the sheep did survive, those sheep are terrified that other sheep got mauled, or ate. Just because you couldn’t follow Christ Jesus and have simple rules saying, no wolves in with the sheep. It doesn’t matter if the wolf is your favorite friend. Perry, feel bad, as you should, however, it’s not just you. Many in your position, head workers and the three above you, have done the same thing, letting wolves in with the sheep. Not following Jesus Christ, but wanting to be the knowing leader themselves. Then they can’t sleep at night. Sorry, but that’s your fault.
