This is Judy Habner I was direct involvement exposing CSA issues these past 11months in Ecuador.
The facts are:
Twenty years ago a man name [TP] sexually abused his daughter many times. His professing wife [B] left him because of these CSA on her daughter. Two older brothers in Ecuador LeRoy Lerwick and Max Bowman encouraged her to forgive him and then return to her husband.
She submitted to the oldest workers advice and returned home. After sometime [TP]. professed and [B] told me that during this time he abused her emotionally and mentally.
It was also at this time he became an Elder with Sunday morning meeting in his home.
Two years ago [TP] continued to Sexually Abuse some of his own family members all children.
Three brother workers in Ecuador Jim Price, Richard Harbur and Scott Porter knew all about this and did nothing but cover it up from the friends in the area, and the people in the community. The only thing these brothers did was take away his privilege of guiding the meeting in his home as the elder BUT [TP] was still allowed to having meeting in his home and partake of the emblems for 2 years. I was present at his house when he partook of the emblems and I didn’t know the evil that he has done. That day was my first time to be at his house in 32 years since I professed.
While I was in Ecuador in August 2022 the wife [B] was under deep distress and I asked her why you are so sad? She told me the nightmare that she was living in and asked me to help her talk to the friends and let them know she did not want to have Sunday Morning Meeting in her home any more.
The people in the San Jose area where all this happened knew of [TP]’s abuses and that he had a meeting in his home and they called him of the Devil, and the people who came to his home are also of the devil. I told [B] that it was necessary to write a letter to all in the Sunday morning meeting letting everyone know what she wanted and to expose [TP]’s CSA issues to protect other children in the community and among the fellowship, many of the friends didn’t know what’s going on just they hear “rumors” about it . Workers never talk to anybody about what was going on.
Before I comforted [TP] I called Lealand Broughton the responsible brother over South America and asked him: “Why have you allowed him to have meeting in his home? ” Lealand told me: “You don’t have the spirit of the Lamb to deal with this issue”.
Lealand advice was to talk to one elder nearby and if he agree taken the meeting is ok to take away the meeting. Then he advised another elder to talk to Jim Price and if he agreed also then the meeting was to be taken out of [TP]’s home.
I heard the conversation when Jim Price said to the Elder over the phone:
“Is there something new?
This is a little thing that happened 20-years ago,
and again 8-years ago and we know all about it “.
Is there something new?
The Elder told Jim: If I had known this before I would of never guided the meeting in his Home. Jim Price then agreed to take the meeting out of [TP]’s home because [TP]’s CSA was again exposed.
On the same day Scott Porter told me that I was out of order for exposing [TP] and there would be consequences for what I was doing, and he didn’t know that Lealand Broughton advice was to talk to Jim Price and an elder if both agree then ok take the meeting out from his house.
On Sunday August 14th, 2022 I confronted [TP] in his house during the Sunday Morning and [TP] denied everything and all the abuses that he committed and then I read the letter written by his wife [B] that exposed all his evil deeds towards his own family members all children at that time. Richard Harbur and Scott Porter came to Las Mercedes area just across the field from Las Mercedes convention ground and we visited there.
During the visit I had with Richard Harbur and Scott Porter, I asked them: Why have you allowed [TP] to have meeting in his home?
The answer was: “I don’t know”.
Then I asked Scott Porter Why did you allow him to partake of the emblems? And he said to me “The emblems don’t have feelings“ at this point
Richard was upset that I exposed the abuser and he ” Screamed at me for reading the letter in the meeting that was written by [B] (the wife) and this letter expose [TP]‘s evil deeds “.
Richard Harbur at that time wanted to put the Sunday morning meeting back into [TP]‘s home. But no one wanted to go to his house for meetings again.
I then went to the authorities to tell them the deep CSA issues in the San Jose area. When the authorities heard of these problems and heard the recording of Richard Harbur screaming at me they immediately suggested that I place a “restraining-order against Richard Harbur”. This also I did as the authorities encouraged me to be very careful of the “Abuse Power“ from religious leaders.
Richard Harbur was then served the “restraining-Order” from the authorities. Richard then hired two lawyers to defend himself to have the restraining-order removed. Richard also spoke to many of the friends to come support him at the court date. At the court date many friends including from Guayaquil came to defend Richard and no one addressed the real problem of CSA that Richard Harbur, Scott Porter, and Jim Price had been covering up for years. I never hired a lawyer but the Judge appointed a lawyer for me. The Judge asked Richard Harbur lawyer about the incident.
Richard Harbur lawyer asked Richard: Did you scream at Mrs Judy? And Richard replied: No.
When I heard this I could not believe he would lie before the Judge an all the witnesses. It deeply sadden my heart. The Judge asked me to speak and I said, I will keep the restraining order. The Judge decision was to keep the restraining order also and the letter will be under investigation.
The Judge then made his decision based on all he had heard and said, “The Restraining-Order” will remain.
As a result of this I was evil spoken of, gaslit, and condemned by Richard Harbur, elders in Guayaquil and by some workers on the Ecuador staff. I was also excommunicated from attending Sunday morning meeting in two Elders homes in Guayaquil Ecuador. It has deeply saddened my heart. I lost my song in my heart but I keep my Faith.
I was devastated but still I keep my Faith in God.
I was not alone as a few dear friends stood by me during this devastating time. Others have posted on Wings for the Truth, and Advocates for the Truth about these very troubling and “hidden crimes” that have been swept under the rug for years.
My husband Charlie Habner came to support me and worked remotely from Guayaquil for 2 months. His heart too was deeply sadden by the workers and friends who have covered up these most troubling “Crimes” against Children. These are not just Sins – they are CRIMES against innocent children who suffered and still suffer because of the evil that continues to be allowed. Our hearts go out to the victims and pray that God would hear their cry and give them a voice to be heard so their deep pain can begin to heal.
For the record [TP] was allowed to attend Las Mercedes Convention this past November 2022. It wasn’t until this past April 2023 that [TP] was removed from attending meetings in his area because I wrote a letter to all the workers in Ecuador asking why you allowed him to continue coming to meetings?
Because that they told [TP] not to come to meetings.
Lealand Broughton knew all of this and chose to do NOTHING. There are also many other CSA issues in South America that Lealand Percy Broughton has known about for years and has done NOTHING.
It saddens my husband and I deeply that many responsible servants have bowed down to the service of men and have not fulfilled their calling to God.
All that I have mentioned above I also sent detailed emails to Ray Hoffmann about these deep problems and crimes of CSA in South America and he never even wrote back once. It’s like he didn’t even care for the Victims. It’s so sad to see no one cares about my country in Ecuador.

Judy, Our hearts break for you. The same evil that is in your country is in ours. Only God can save us from these evil, evil men. Keep your eyes on Jesus and don’t loose faith in God. He will never disappoint you!!
This is heartbreaking. I’m glad someone has had the courage to speak out about the full picture. Everything needs to be known and dealt with. I am sickened by those who are hiding and protecting criminal offenders, lying about the coverups, and heaping further abuses on victims.
What do you mean the full picture? Both sides would be nice.
I’m sorry, you are absolutely right. I was commenting as someone who had already read the first letter, not remembering that the first letter was not shared here. A thought that has come to my mind in reading both of them is that there are three sides to every story. But I am very glad that this side has also been shared. It is important. I don’t have the ability to judge what the third side is, but God does have that ability. I think what the two sides I have seen emphasizes is that workers are not trained to handle these situations, and should leave them to the professionals.

My name is Jaime Pizarro Velastegui, the elder in Guayaquil who told Judy that she wasn’t welcome to come to meetings at my home. It never was because TP was exposed. It was because Judy exposed the victims when they didn’t want to be exposed. Some of the victims and families meet in my home. They feel betrayed, manipulated, used, and hurt by Judy. They are afraid of her and don’t want to see her. So I felt that I needed to protect them and give them a safe place. I told the servants what I was doing and they said it is your home, you have the right to do that. It was never about TP!
Thank you, Jaime, for having the courage to add the third side. There was Scott’s letter, then Judy’s, and now yours. I feel like the three of them make an increasingly complete picture. If nothing else, it should stop people from jumping all over those who appear to be gullible and are perhaps just thoughtful and open to not immediately labelling any one person as “right” or “wrong”. Scott’s letter is once again looking like it has some legitimacy.
What might be forgotten sometimes is that survivors are at different levels of dealing with things, and cannot always bear to have their abuse revealed and discussed before they are ready. The wife of TP was apparently ready for her situation to be revealed, but maybe that’s where it should have stayed at that time? Please don’t jump on me, folks. These are just comments and thoughts, and clearly I don’t know the reality of the situation, but all of it is very thought-provoking. I just know that in my own situation of having experienced CSA from more than one offender, it would have felt like a betrayal for someone else to talk about it to a group without me being involved or without my permission. It is my story, not anyone else’s. It’s been a lot of years and I’m still not quite able to tell it all from start to finish.

Abuse, approval of sins, homosexuality, rape, abuse of authority, forcing many to take medication to be drugged and submissive, mistreatment, etc. It is not fair to all the victims of all the abuse that these servants have caused during all these years.
Leroy Lerwick left Ecuador as if he were a savior and as if he had been a great servant, when he was NOT, but the consolation we have is in God, who will pay each one for his actions.
Mercy and comfort from God to all and grateful because there are many like the Habners who have had the courage to expose all these injustices.

Sr Carlos and Sra Judy, maybe you haven´t received an answer because you haven´t told the truth, you have made up the story, and what is more, you have offended and hurt those victims more than you can imagine. I sadly see how you Judy and Charlie Habner have basically used the victims as you have wished, without taking into consideration their feelings and suffering. Your only and single purpose is to reach the workers and push them to leave the work. Additionally, the victims are in absolute disagreement with everything you are doing and told me you do not represent them in any single way, as you have not shown any respect or consideration to their suffering, instead, you have done horrible things to the whole family, and you haven´t stopped. It seems to me that you do not care at all for them, or you have no idea how devasted they are by your wrongdoing and insensitivity.

Look, it is interesting but at the same time sad to see that people who do not know us, talk against us. Who lives here? Who are with them? Who can see their pain? The victims here are like my own family. Who could feel the pain and sadness they have? Who respects them? Who takes into consideration their feelings? Do the victims want to see or even talk to Carlos and Judy? Not at all. Nothing. We are from the coast of Ecuador; Guayaquil, and Manabi, people who have tried to help each other. But, it is easy to talk, easy to criticize, If Carlos and Judy and whoever feels like helping, shouldn´t they take into account the victims? Do we care about them? Show it, don´t just talk. And finally, if you ask any of the victims here, you would understand how they have been used.
Leroy Lerwick and Max Bowman asked Mrs Bernalda to comeback to him after he rape her daughter. Teofane’s professed after a while and he abuse and rape his granddaughters. He rape his untie Martina .

The workers knew about all this recently and they allowed him to continue with Sunday morning meetings in his home and partake of the emblems.
The only thing that he couldn’t do was guide the meetings in his home .
You, Jaime, who accuses Judy of having exposed the names, are a LIAR, when you know very well that one of the victims was rejected by her fiancé when she confessed that she was raped by her grandfather Teofanes, and the boy could not bear the burden and despised her and canceled the wedding. And all the people found out about this, And the whole town knew about this, friends and workers knew about it too.
The victims were also exposed in the letter written by the rapist’s wife and you have the cynicism to openly lie without fear of God, just to cover up the wicked (the workers) who have been participating in that sin. Being an elder you should condemn this type of situation, but on the contrary you defend the workers and try to hide the truth from all the people of God. It disgusts me to think of this situation knowing the many times that I was at that villain’s house with my little daughter, risking her integrity because “supposedly” there were workers safeguarding our lives and our souls.

Teofanes, the one you defend so much, also raped his aunt Martina, he destroyed two homes, not to mention three, including his own home, and all the workers knew it and did nothing, and they’ve been like this for years… without doing anything. They only act for convenience.
And that rapist of daughters, granddaughters, neighbors and his own aunt. I feel so bad for many of the friends who were raised in the fellowship who no longer attend because of the “ Hypocrisy “ amongst the workers, elders, and friends. Judy & I recently had a visit and a meal with some of them in the Guayaquil area and they will not be a part of this “Corruption & Hypocrisy “. I wish I could shared the group photo we took with them. I will never forget the fellowship we shared with them and their children. As stated Jaime remains “ speechless “ to your post and he continues to attack Judy and speak evil of Judy & I. I made four trips to Ecuador this year and worked remotely from there for 2- months. I sat back and watched in disbelief the “ Abuse” by Servants, Elders
( Jaime) and friends who later told lies to hide CSA. I’m thankful for the Mighty Hand of God who is revealing the hidden things of darkness. Gods Hand will not be turned back. We are so sorry for all you have suffered from this Wicked “ Abuse Of Power”. We thank God for your faithful stand for the TRUE TRUTH.

Justice, or Judy Habner, once again you show NO respect or care for the victims, worse any compassion to them, and quite far the right spirit. You are talking about people who are very close to me, people who are the victims and have suffered. I respect each one of them, NOT the abusers or perpetrators, and I think that you have NOT realized yet that you Sra. Judy Habner and Sr. Charlie Habner have become predators of the victims here. None of the victims want to talk to you, some even are afraid of you both, you have caused a lot of sadness and suffering to them. I am not making anything up as I see and talk to them every week, they do not want to remember anything about you, because it torments them. You have hurt them enough and caused a bigger psychological problem to them. So may I ask you Judy and Charlie, are you doing anything for them that would bring peace and comfort to them? Haven´t you harmed them enough? Why are you looking for victims to use them as a weapon to attack others and not to help them?
It is my only desire to know how to help, comfort, respect, and show care for the victims, and I think that the only way this can be accomplished is by understanding their suffering and being aware of their true feelings, and mostly leaving everything in God´s hands as we trust him. God sees and knows everything, so we should fear him more.
Regarding NN, the victim did what he felt was better, and he received the help and support he was looking for, as he knows that others are safer for what he bravely did. And once again he, the victim wants NOTHING from you Judy or Charlie H. because he realized there is nothing but evil in you, sorry to say this, but he just recently told me that, and you have no idea about the suffering you brought to him. Hope you understand that if you want to help any victim, you have to respect them, understand them, see what would bring peace to their lives, and especially show you really care for them, please.
Sra. Judy, the fact that you do not live here, doesn´t give you the right to say that the workers or elders have done nothing here. Have you talked to the victims? I am so thankful that help and support, as well as care, have been given and shown to the victims. Ask the victims, and they would tell you. I recently saw and talked to them on Sunday morning, as I said before they are like our own family and there is a big respect and appreciation for them, as they are of great esteem to us. And the workers have shown a lot of kindness and care for them, and they are very grateful, this is what I can tell you.

Someone has a problem because he says Judy exposed the victims names but other’s say that’s not true it was exposed because of a letter the perputrator’s wife wrote and also because one of the victims told her fiance about it.

Louise, I guess that is my question as well. It was clearly handled unwisely by the workers, but as a victim, I would hope that nobody had their story told before they were ready to have it told. Even if it was written in the letter by the perpetrator’s wife, it should not have been read to anyone publicly if the victims weren’t a part of that process and consenting. I know firsthand how horrifying and painful that can be.

Attacking Judy like that was very unkind, we can tell the truth without attacking the person, and that on a public forum for the whole world to see!
The truth should be in the victims. Whenever you want to know the truth, go and talk to them. What is the reason that none of the victims want to talk to Judy, nor even see her? She didn´t take care of them, nor respect them in any way. We should try to put ourselves in their shoes and help them properly being more sensitive and careful to avoid harming them more. It is easy to blame others or see others’ mistakes. We need to see our own mistakes first and show the mercy we want to receive as well.
It is interesting that CISE came to Ecuador and saw things that worried her/him, instead of focusing on the good side of the people, we want to see the best in our brothers and if we see anything wrong, have the correct spirit to help, and if others see something in us, be willing to receive the good advice as well, so it is quite paramount the way we handle sensitive things.
Jaime, do you think you acted with love towards Judy the way you spoke about her?
I am not asking if you are right or wrong, but if you think your approach towards her are Christian like?
There is x2 sides here, yours and the others that have posted here, we have no way of knowing which is true or not, it is not appropriate for me to go to the victims, people I dont know at all.But untill the victims themselves say what is true or not, it will remain a question as to who is telling the truth.
Louise, there is one truth, the victims are like my own family and we do care about each other, I sadly see that they have been used to attack others, not to help or protect them in any way, instead more pain has been caused to them, and I can say this because they come to my home twice a week at least. They have had more than enough, it is time to show love to them Louise, the love you were talking about. And, I do pray for Judy and others.
I posted the same concern on CCF regarding care and concern for the victims. This story stood out to me as off because the story is not being told by the victim. As a CSA survivor myself, I would have been horrified if someone had done this to me, told my story to hundreds if people via the internet and exposed my family situation without my consent. The grandmother was not the CSA victim, that part is not her story to tell either, but it definitely seems way off to have Judy so loudly telling a story that is not hers to tell. She can call and report to the hotline as a third party reporter and hopefully someone can reach out to the victims, but this story is not hers to make public. I feel so badly for the mother of the children and the minor children that have had their story made public. I am sorry that in the midst of dealing with the trauma of CSA you are also dealing with the forced publicity of a very sensitive topic. My heart aches for you 💔
I totally agree with JF, and that´s our main concern, that people like Judy and Carlos show no respect or care for the victims. It is so sad to see this happening over and over again.
FYI , Teofane’s wife didn’t want meeting in her home anymore and wanted everyone of the friends to know what happen and what Teofanes did that is why she wrote the letter.
Teofa’s wife?? The poor lady who you think has to ask you for forgiveness after you exposed all her family? She doesn´t want anything from you or Carlos. How can you talk about this family? Do you think you have the right to expose them and continue talking about them without their consent? I feel really sorry for you, Judy, and Carlos.
Now you began talking about a child who you Judy and Carlos said ¨he was raped¨ I just talked to him and he is in great pain and sadness because you have lied, you didn´t say the truth, but not only that. You two didn´t have the right, nor his consent at all to talk about him. I personally love this victim, and it is so sad to see what you are doing.

I am from Guayaquil, raised and born here, in the truth. I met Leroy Lerwick, the very first time he came to Ecuador and all I can say is that he did his best in the will of God during all his time here (more than 37 years), helping all the ones he could reach out to, he was always a faithful worker who we Ecuadorian have huge respect and love for, and everyone remembers him and we have him in our hearts. Nothing and absolutely nothing will change our gratitude, respect, and love for LL. You can condemn and judge him as you please, but God has always been with him, and that´s the most important thing in life. May God forgive your wickedness.

The wife wrote the letter. I believe Judy read it aloud at the meeting. There doesn’t seem to have been permission from the other victims to have it exposed, from anything I read here. I’d love someone to clarify that. I understand fully that Teofane’s wife didn’t want the meeting any longer and wanted others to know why. The question is still whether there was permission from the other victims for Judy to read it aloud.
Well, Teofa’s wife and her family begged Judy not to do that. She did not pay attention to any of their begs and pleas, but instead, she did in front of children who were crying.
