Subject: Notice regarding Loren Spellman
Dear NC/VA/MD/DE Friends,
I’m reaching out to you regarding Loren Spellman, who is no longer in the work.
Over the past few weeks friends and workers shared with me experiences regarding Loren’s behavior which crossed boundaries of appropriate conduct pertaining to women. In recent hours we received a credible allegation of CSA made by an adult living outside of our region about contact that occurred while she was a child.
I am very sorry for everyone who has experienced hurt and discomfort as a result of Loren’s actions.
Loren is not to attend meetings at this time.
If you, your children, or anyone else has had any interactions with Loren or anyone else constituting CSA or SA, please contact the local authorities.
If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of the workers.

It’s said, “Loren was in the work for over 40 years, LABORING in Kansas, Colorado, Iowa, Nebraska, Tennessee, Pennsylania, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Maryland and South Carolina”. WHY isn’t this called what it is? Loren was NOT laboring any where! He was NOT working! Loren was destroying peoples lives. It is time to get real. It could be said, Loren was in these fields…. But, to say this predator was ” laboring ” puts him in the same category as a mother having a precious little baby. Not the same. No where near close. Time to get rid of the sanctimonious jargon. It’s not a good fit for a predator. While Loren certainly did get around, he did not labor. At least, not for God.

He was in my home with Robert Johnson amny times Once I was in bed with my back and he and Robert cooked and even took care of the house for me. He never said or did anything out of the way but then I am the same age as him If I had know what he had done I sure wouldn’t have felt safe So how do I let others in my home from now on Who can I trust these days? He adn Jermoe had my son’e funeral If I had know what both of these have done I sure woudn’t have had that happen Here they were trying to get my daughter-in- laws preacher uncle straightened out and to believe he was wrong and need to be in Truth Where there has never been anything evil in his church! Rather disgusting to say the least
Yes, the “labouring” verb makes me very annoyed too! “Labouring”? Doing what exactly?
That was my wording, sorry. 😬 I hate the word, too, but it is the “group speak” verbiage, so I’ve been reluctantly using it. “In the work in ____” doesn’t sound much better to me, anyway.
By my count this guy was in 13 states in 40 years. Wonder if his overseers knew early on that he was a CSA pred and keep him on the move? If so, he was able to continue on his dusty trail of destruction over many states during the years.
And, shouldn’t all the fiends in all these states be notified by the overseer in each state? Reading Jim Holt’s letter to whoever he sent it to in his region isn’t enough. I shouldn’t have to find out news on a website.
To be fair, many of the fields on the east coast include multiple states. I compiled this field data for Loren. At least a couple of his fields assignments spanned areas of 3 different states. That being said, he was still moved around quite a bit, and I don’t have every single worker list, so there could be more states that I missed.
Right. Multiple states on a staff, so mauve only 5 moves in 40 years.
TRT, I have been in every 48 continental states, along with Mexico and Canada and have attended meetings, special meetings and conventions. I know a fair amount of people. I don’t think I have ever been around Loren Spellman however, and I do not know the name. I don’t think Loren was on the speaker tours. It appears he was kept close to home. But, Loren was tossed around like a hot potato, landing in 13 different states!!! That is about three times the amount of moves made by most workers. Loren appears to have been a known quantity and it’s highly suspect NOBODY was aware of his antics? Moving to 13 states is unheard of. Even for a 40 year veteran. And, saying, “I am very sorry “, doesn’t cut it.
I thought Loren was creepy as a child, nearly 40 years ago. Told my parents I felt uncomfortable around him. It was a “joke” in the family. I’ve never revised that opinion. Not such a joke now.

Thats the word my children used to describe him when I asked if they remember him, that was before I even told them about the allegations against him, they described him as “creepy and weird” He left gum stuck to a lampstand when he spend the night with us.
Fortunately I have allways let the kids sleep in our bedroom when workers are around.
My mom and I (I’m not professing) have been going back to meetings recently after years away, we just went to gospel meetings where he spoke in May here. I’m shocked to see this. Obviously I didn’t know him and can’t say I suspected anything. Whatever the truth is I pray for God’s healing hand for all.
