Update from the lllinois/lndiana staff

Subject: An update from the lllinois/lndiana staff

Dear Friends,

We think of you with appreciation and concern in these current times, and we hope you are doing okay.

We would like to update you on our activities and communicate our efforts to address Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) as well as adult Sexual Abuse (SA).

Last week, the IL IN staff convened in Indiana for portions of three days. We talked about our responsibilities as mandated reporters, and some of the steps required to report abuse. We talked about appropriate conduct for workers, which for the most part, applies to our friends also. We also discussed policy that is being developed to help us know how to respond to allegations and convictions of CSA and SA. The motivation of the policy is to provide a safe environment for children first of all. We are working on making resources available for victims. And the policy addresses people’s concerns about if when an abuser would be reintegrated into a meeting and funeral. In this decision, strong consideration is being given to having a CSA professional outside of our fellowship do an evaluation. Some professionals and several other people are working on this policy. We hope it can be shared before long. We appreciate your patience, as we try to create appropriate policy.

Two churches gathered in the Evansville, IN, area on Monday evening, July 3, to give people an opportunity to express feelings and concerns, and to ask questions about the serious problems confronting us these days. Sharon Carrol, Gloria Edwards, Loren Quick and Matthew Jensen were present. Two of these gatherings are planned in the Indianapolis area next week

We want to know how this experience affects our friends. If anyone has any questions or concerns, and you feel like the workers can be of help in a personal visit, feel free to reach out to us. If anyone is interested in attending similar gatherings as mentioned above, please reach out to the workers in your field.

Take care.

Sincerely,

The IL IN Staff

  1. “Signed, The IL IN Staff”. I don’t remember in the Bible where ANYTHING was signed “STAFF”!! Thank you head worker, not wanting to be so HEAD right now.

    1. Oh come on…show the right spirit..quit grinding away at people when some are trying..forget how it is signed..that pretty unimportant don’t you think???

    2. I’m with Louis. If the head worker is going to allude to vague “professionals” “evaluating” pedophiles to decide if and when said pedophiles will be integrated with families, put a name on it. And an email address. You say you want to know how “this experience affects” friends: have you not been reading the many, many letters and emails posted publicly? The victims of child sexual abuse and rape have been very clear about wanting a zero tolerance response. Not “listening” exercises and vague mentions of trying to understand responsibilities of reporting the most reprehensible crimes!

  2. Head worker for Illinios and Indiana, Matt Jensen, recently wrote that worker Jim Stipp ADMITTED to two incidents of child abuse. Mr Jensen then wrote, “(Jim)…will not be in meetings until further notice”. Now it is written that the workers will “create appropriate policy”. While Jim still hangs in limbo about the further notice? I sure hope the workers act fast and CREATE the appropriate policy. Really, I don’t think anybody is holding their breath. Where is Jim? In the meantime, hide your kids.

    1. Matt has now stepped aside, you are gradually getting what you desire – to break them with your harrasment

      1. Harr, are you kidding us? How many children have the workers broken?! Right now we care about the victims. Matt can take care of himself; the victims couldn’t when they were being victimized. (And many of us are still being victimized!)

Matt is personally innocent, but unfortunately every overseer is culpable.

      2. Do not know where you get your information, but in my parts a man’s word is a good as gold. Hope it is the same where you live.

  3. App, you are absolutely correct! Now, Matt IS doing the right thing, if Matt is stepping aside. That shows wisdom. Matt is not up to the job, stating an admitted child abuser was being given even the slightest amount of wiggle room to get back to his old playground by saying, “….until further notice”. Matt is as guilty as the prep with that type of language in a written notice. That’s on Matt for releasing such a notice and thank you Matt, if you are stepping aside, acknowledging that you are in way over your head. Now, Ray, Barry, Jerome Frandle and a lot of head workers, that are frankly, creeps dressed up in suits, need to have the wisdom Matt has. Matt has a known, undeniable history by what he has said, same as the rest of these other empty suits. The sooner the house is clean, the sooner parents with kids can breathe easier. Thank you God for giving at least one of the Heads wisdom!
