WINGS has received a request “to remove the transcript” relating to the recently published informal notes of an overseer meeting held in March 2025.
WINGS is posting the request it received, as requested, and declines to remove the original post because:
A) It isn’t clear from the strange sender email address that this was actually sent by Brian Getz.
B) The notes are not ‘a transcript’.
C) It is not apparent that the notes include “sensitive personal information”.
D) As the notes have been published in multiple forums, it is now pointless to remove them.
In response to the extracts of legal analysis, presumably prepared by a lawyer:
- There was probably no intention to harass or defraud.
- There is no indication that the meeting was recorded. The statute doesn’t bar note-taking.
- The purpose was not harming, intimidating, threatening, or defrauding another person.
- There was probably no intent to commit, or to aid or abet, any unlawful activity.
- There was no invasion of ‘privacy’ as the overseers are public people and the meeting discussed matters which are of interest to the whole church.
WINGS has redacted one name from the original post.

Dear WingsForTruth Administrators and other Site Administrators,
I’m reaching out regarding the transcript of a private Zoom meeting held on March 25, which has been published on your website. This meeting was intended to be confidential and informal, with access restricted to invited participants using a security code and waiting room.
Unfortunately, the transcript was obtained through unauthorized access to the Zoom call by someone impersonating a known participant. In your posted notes, this individual is referred to as “Jon.” While that name was mentioned during the call, the actual person “Jon” did not call in that day. The impersonator was mistakenly admitted to the call based on claiming to be “Jon”. Additionally, we do not know how this individual obtained the Zoom meeting ID and security code, and it’s possible this information was acquired through illegal means. It was only after the call finished and the actual “Jon” apologized for not attending (he was involved in an important visit), that we then realized our call had an imposter.
This impersonator had no permission to attend and misrepresented their identity as “Jon” in a text message in order to gain access—an act that may constitute criminal impersonation under Washington, California, and possibly federal law. Our policy is to fully report all CSA allegations to authorities, whether historical and current – using unlawful means to misrepresent our intent or concern during private conversation is not appropriate during the current crisis.
The transcript includes sensitive personal information that was shared with the understanding that the setting was private. Even though the impersonator was mistakenly admitted, they were not authorized to record, transcribe, or disseminate the conversation. The public stating of specific names associated with possible CSA-related allegations is also considered “defamation per se” in many jurisdictions. Public posting or sharing of content obtained through deceptive or unlawful methods may also carry legal implications, even if done unintentionally.
We fully recognize that you may not have been aware of how this material was obtained. Out of fairness and respect for those affected, we kindly request that you remove the transcript from your website and facebook page, and consider posting a brief note acknowledging that it was removed due to its unauthorized, deceptive and likely criminal acquisition—rather than as a simple “leak,” as it may have been presented to you. We also request that a copy in full of this letter and attached information be posted in explanation of the situation.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Respectfully,
Brian Getz (Zoom meeting host)
Some related information:
1. Washington State Laws on Online Impersonation and Eavesdropping
(The Zoom call was hosted in WA)
In Washington State, impersonating someone online with the intent to deceive, harass, or defraud is actionable under civil law. According to RCW 4.24.790, a person may be liable in a civil action for invasion of privacy when they intentionally impersonate another actual person on a social networking website or online bulletin board without consent, intending to deceive or mislead for purposes such as harassing or defrauding another.
Regarding eavesdropping, Washington is a two-party consent state. Under RCW 9.73.030, it is unlawful to intercept or record any private communication transmitted by telephone or other device without obtaining the consent of all participants.
RCW 9A.60.045: Criminal Impersonation in the Second Degree involves assuming a false identity to commit or aid in committing a crime. If someone impersonated a real person to gain access to private information that they then used for harm, it could qualify under 2nd-degree impersonation if part of a broader criminal act (like unlawful recording, harassment, or defamation).
2. Does Erroneous Admission Grant Rights to Disseminate Call Contents?
No, being mistakenly allowed into a private meeting does not grant the right to record or disseminate its contents. If the individual misrepresented their identity to gain access, any recording or sharing of the meeting could be considered unauthorized and potentially unlawful, especially if it involves private or sensitive information.
3. California Laws on Online Impersonation
(It is possible the impersonator is located in California)
California Penal Code § 528.5 makes it a crime to knowingly and without consent impersonate another person through or on an internet website or by other electronic means for purposes such as harming, intimidating, threatening, or defrauding another person.
Additionally, Penal Code § 529 addresses false impersonation more broadly, criminalizing acts where someone falsely impersonates another and performs an act that could subject the impersonated person to liability or provide the impersonator with a benefit.
4. Is Online Impersonation a Federal Crime?
Yes, under certain circumstances. The Identity Theft and Assumption Deterrence Act (18 U.S.C. § 1028) criminalizes knowingly transferring or using, without lawful authority, a means of identification of another person with the intent to commit, or to aid or abet, any unlawful activity. Penalties can include fines and imprisonment.
Furthermore, the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (18 U.S.C. § 1030) addresses unauthorized access to computers and can apply to cases where someone gains unauthorized access to private communications.
5. Is It Federally Illegal to Post Criminally Obtained Private Material Online?
Yes, under certain conditions. If the material was obtained through unauthorized access or impersonation, its dissemination could violate federal laws such as the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. Additionally, publishing private facts without consent can lead to civil liability for invasion of privacy. The Electronic Communications Privacy Act also prohibits the intentional interception or disclosure of electronic communications without authorization.
Sequence of Impersonation:
- Zoom call was started, both waiting room and security code were in use (most attend with video, some with limited bandwidth occasionally call in by phone).
- We’ve never had a stranger try to attend, so when the imposter called in (non-video), they were at first admitted. (we have no idea how they obtained the zoom call ID and security number)
- The unknown caller number was noticed and questioned by some attendees, and some made the statement “That must be “Jon”, since he hasn’t joined yet” (in this way the imposter would know that they could use this name as an imposter name).
- Since it was unclear who owned the number, the imposter was removed to the waiting room again.
- A text message was sent to the questionable number, asking “Who are you?”
- After a little while the imposter texted back, saying “Oh sorry just saw this. Stumbling with technology today. This is jon”
- The host assumed this was the true identity of the caller and admitted the imposter for the remainder of the zoom meeting.

True to form, the leadership of the ministry is putting more time and energy into covering their collective bums than caring about the thousands of victims…
well it appears the overseers don’t think it’s a crime that CSA on us victims was allowed and covered up. What are your thoughts on this Barry or don’t you care to share in public? A survivor named Cliff
These overseers are really proving now what a farce they are. All of them should just give all the money they carry around to us and go join a gang which it sounds like they are already involved with. FBI where are you???
This all just gets weirder and weirder. The layers of irony!
Before this request, they might have had plausible deniability about the original meeting notes. No more.
And why are they able to mount such a quick legalistic defense over contraband Zoom meeting notes, within two days, when given more than two years they can’t make a serious attempt at addressing thousands of cases of sexual abuse under their collective watch?
(To note also, the spelling of “Jon” is interesting, with no H – could be one clue as to how much the supposed imposter knew about the invited participants for the meeting.)
Wait, I thought it wasn’t a “current crisis,” according to the overseers. But now, when it is revealed that they find CSA and their active work in hiding or covering it up something funny that they joke about on calls with each other, it suddenly is a crisis? Gaslighting at it’s best…geez.
The person who infiltrated this overseer meeting is a hero. Whoever you are, I hope you are reading this because many people want to express their thanks for the spotlight you put on these workers of iniquity. Brian, you and your fellow overseers should be in federal prison.
That is not Brian’s email address. So, they are concerned about their sick behavior being found out, but not concerned about their ministry harming children? Yikes! They are concerned about Bridging the Gap, but not about their own false doctrine? What about all the preaching about not seeking legal council against others? Oh, I forgot, they’ve been suing people since the early days of this religion!
This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. (John 3:19-21, NIV)
If they want to use the Bible, then surely these are the most clear words there could be.
jay wicks once we love you wholeheartedly and we think you love us too but now we see how you really think of all of us…..search your soul…is this who you really are…look at what you have become and how far you have fall…you betray us all and who you use to be…stand up be a man a true servant of god and do right while you still can
Yes, come on Jay. Be the change. You are the only member of this nasty nest of vipers who there is still remotely any hope for. Get on the right side of history. Make your life mean something.
For people who spend their nights in someone else’s home, they sure value their privacy.
I think the overseers are so caught up in themselves they forget they are under a federal investigation. I personally would be shocked if every phone or email and I might mention zoom call. Has the listening ears and seeing eyes of the FBI. The attitude and laughing about all the children that have been hurt CSA/SA will not go over well with a judge or jury. Bragging about how they spend their money and not helping the victim’s will not help them with anyone even the tax man. Oh I am sure the filed their taxes again this year!
To use their own “Out of fairness and respect for those affected”, how about:
Out of fairness and respect for those affected, how about you remove perpetrators from the church and you do not go to great lengths to reinstate them.
Out of fairness and respect for those affected, how about you go to every length to protect children in the church from predators.
Out of fairness and respect for those affected, how about you read and believe every single survivor story that has been publicly disclosed, and those that have been private disclosed to you.
Out of fairness and respect for those affected, how about you (the overseers) actually STAND UP and genuinely be accountable in every facet of accountability. For not apologizing, mourning, lamenting, and repenting for all the damage that has been done in your church. For not seeking to provide restitution to victims.
Out of fairness and respect for those affected, how about you empty the deep worker pockets to assist in paying for therapy for victims of abuse?
Out of fairness and respect for those affected, how about you work with, instead of against, Cynthia and 2×2 Church Accountability, Bridges and Balm, Bridging the Gap, GRACE, the Ex 2×2 community, and the FBI.
Out of fairness and respect for those affected, how about you consider your fellow workers who have given of many years and leave broken, with only pennies in their pocket to begin their life away from the church ministry.
Out of fairness and respect for those affected, how about you read Preserving the Truth and then come clean about the true beginnings of the church, and do so to every current and former church member.
You overseers feel like your privacy was violated… what about the actual, real violation of the bodies, minds, and souls of the thousands of victims in your church, abused by your fellow staff members through the decades and by church members? THAT is the privacy that has actually been violated, over and over and over!
Because they’re brainwashed. I had a whole post typed up and Satan removed it. It was weird. It just disappeared. This world is lost. I feel so lost.
Yes, this! My reply is to the fine letter that starts every paragraph with “out of fairness.” I hope some of those overseers read and understand what is said there. I was never physically abused, but my whole life direction and choices, which led to much mental and emotional abuse and anguish, along with loss of precious relationships with family and friends who weren’t professing, was set and affected by what I believed to be true and the enormous mental power the church had over me. Such deception and lies, along with all the SA and CSA. A staggering amount of damage done and still being done to thousands of people.
I’m 62. Leslie White spent so much time in our home. My older sisters profess on their own terms these days; movies, tv, alcohol (hidden, of course.) I about fainted when my older sister told her daughter that all she had to do was to spend 15 minutes a day reading her Bible and/or praying and she was going straight to Heaven FOR SURE. It’s sickening. I had another sister tell me, the reason my husband had a major stroke and I’m now his full-time caregiver PLUS I have a busy full-time job (working from home in a professional position) is because I’m a sinner. So, I don’t have a lot of joy. I cry quite a bit. Not just for me but for all of the friends; those who were and are innocent followers of what they’ve been brainwashed to believe is the only way to Heaven. My stomach hurts unless I force myself to stop thinking about it all. I’m exhausted.
hey… want to say to you, you are not alone. Many of us felt and still feel lost. Every island was shaken to its foundation… at some point the rug was pulled out from under us, whether the bandages were peeled off our eyes slowly or ripped off suddenly, there is that moment when we see clearly for the first time and it is absolutely life changing. You can’t un-see what you saw. You know now. We were all lied to. It hurts to hear, to know, to see. And it will continue to hurt, to be hard, but it gets easier. Please find those who are traveling the same path and/or get professional help. Many of us find these both really helpful. Religious trauma is a very real and deeply damaging thing, but there is professional help, support groups, people who care and people who understand. You are not alone. ❤
It is written: “For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.” (2 Corinthians 11:13–14)
Those who seek to silence the truth and erase the record of their own words, spoken behind closed doors, have already exposed themselves. If their words and motives were righteous, they would not fear the light. “For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.” (John 3:20)
“Certain men have crept in unnoticed… ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Jude 4)
And again, “These are spots in your love feasts… they are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots… for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.” (Jude 12–13)
They have seared their consciences and now cloak themselves with the garments of religion, hoping the congregation stays blind. But “nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known.” (Luke 12:2)
True servants of God have no need to hide. Let their deeds be judged in the light of God’s word, not swept away in the shadows of secrecy. “Woe to you… for you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.” (Matthew 23:13)
Amen!
what are the odds that this email is not from Getz at all but rather an imposter themselves. That would be par for the course.
Nearly zero.
It didn’t have to be this way.
So many of us have loved and cherished this way. It meant everything to our grandparents and great grandparents, and it meant everything to us. Human beings have willingly and in good faith given up the chance to have love, children, grandchildren, a career to preach the gospel story. And all the while, the overseers were treating these costly things we have cherished like an unholy thing.
At any point in time, they could have confessed and repented. They had so many opportunities, and they did not take one.
Now we know beyond a shadow of a doubt, it’s rotten at the top.
@Brokenhearted, you speak for so many of us.
Maybe I’m taking these lines out of context, but one thing that has been comforting to me is in Hebrews 6: 8-11:
“… land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned. Even though we speak like this, dear friends, we are convinced of better things in your case — the things that have to do with salvation. God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people* and continue to help them. We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. …”
Past efforts aren’t in vain if they were genuinely motivated by God’s love in living their lives and helping others. At the time our forebears might have been deceived by wrong theology, which is indeed tragic, but if they were operating honestly according to their understanding, surely God remembers and honors that.
* It goes without saying that as Jesus explained, “his people” includes everyone, all our neighbors, not only members of a particular church.
Keep in mind that the audience for this take-down-letter is not Wings, nor the ex2x2 crowd, but instead the audience is the current 2×2 community. Why? Because 2×2 leadership is demonstrating to that audience that they the leadership are under attack by bitter-exes who are committing illegal acts to infiltrate and disrupt the most Holy of Holies (Overseer meetings). These people thrive off of a persecution complex, and the ex2x2 group is feeding that fire. It also serves to discredit WINGS – which is allegedly a neutral party concerned only about CSA – by demonstrating that WINGS deals in illegally obtained material.
I appreciate your thoughts however I personally respectfully disagree. I have been out of the church over 50 years now as I was Molested by a worker named Don Reynolds. Barry Barkley yes the same one that was in this zoom call was in the room pretending to be sleeping. I hope you or none of your family ever have to experience being molested. I don’t feel I am a bitter ex I am a grown man now that still has nightmares about that night as a child. I am one of many victims just one. I don’t consider any victim a bitter ex I consider them a wounded child. The nice thing about our country we all have a right to our feelings, I respect your however I respectfully don’t agree. A survivor named Cliff
I am still “inside”. I still host a meeting Currently, I trust the people I work with in “the world” more than I trust this group of “men”. Overseers, just keep showing how callous your true nature is……how little you appear to care for hurting souls, how concerned you are for your own place to remain unchanged…….. it is pushing those of us who have hung on for the past 2 years further & further away everyday. The fruits are showing themselves.
I am 4th generation. The “future” 5th generation, my children, have already bailed out due to the obvious deceit & distrust by ministry leadership. Homes are dwindling at a rapid rate.
Thankfully ‘The Truth’ does not involve itself in legal matters as per 1 Corinthians 6-10.
A large newspaper (OC Register) has a headline this morning “Catholic faithful pay final respects to pope. A few years ago several of the top dog workers had a funeral for one of their big leaders. His name Dean Bruer, they all one after another got up and spoke how this man was no doubt sitting between Paul and Peter in heaven. This group, who got together for this zoom meeting must have been there to glorify each other and then got caught in lies and several funny stories that they all enjoyed. WHAT A COMPLETE JOKE. Jim Jones, oh sorry, Dale Shultz and the rest of you drop the cool-aid gig and admit what you are.
I’m pretty sure WINGS has much greater credibility with current church members than other sites/groups. I personally know some current members that read WINGS but will not look at other sources. That’s possibly why the overseers are going after WINGS but not the other platforms, and why they asked to have their response published on here.
I’m not quite sure what they hope to gain by sending this letter though. Is it just giving some firepower to their remaining hard-core supporters (allowing them to paint WINGS and the leaker as “criminals”)? WINGS is not responsible for the actions of the impersonator, right?
I’m not necessarily on board with the ethics of infiltrating a confidential meeting and leaking the contents, but the damage is done and the notes are out there.
WINGS is under no legal jeopardy. A good example is the leaking of Top Secret information by Snowden. The media outlets that published it were not held liable in any way, it was Snowden that faced the legal consequences. That said, I doubt that there would be a case against “Jon” for a host of reasons, not the least being that there was no overt request for privacy from what we gather from the Getz letter. The fact that the conversation was password protected is not an implication of a privacy requirement. A password is often used to eliminate unwanted interruptions, ie much like have a meeting in an office rather than out on the street.
WINGS is indeed church-neutral with most board members still active in meetings. That said, I can say from my 16 years of involvement, we have never been invited to provide input on CSA issues. We are definitely non-hostile toward the church. Protecting children is paramount, as is support for survivors.
In regard to the infiltrating and leaking – however it happened, and even if the ethics are questioned – I think many of us can’t help but think of whoever did this as a kind of Robin Hood folk hero. He or she co-opted information from the comfortable “rich” to share with us brokenhearted “poor.”
The original leaked notes speak for themselves. Wow.
This request to remove them, from Brian Getz, who is listed as a senior worker in WA… trying to connect the dots and perhaps someone else can…
I seem to recall that the GRACE investigation requested by the WA safety group (that was done but then ultimately ignored by the overseer) was regarding an individual named Larry Getz, also in WA I believe. Is there some relation between the two? If so, perhaps adds another layer to the removal request… a personal vested interest in coverup of how the hierarchy discusses and manages these alleged “incidents” (crimes)?
Nothing would surprise me at this point.
Larry Getz is Brian’s father.
If this is an accurate account of what transpired on the Zoom call, I’m truly disappointed. This might be the straw that breaks the proverbial camel’s back for me. I was relieved that I didn’t see Doyle’s name on the list of attendees. Correct me if I’m wrong.
How can the ministry, as it’s being represented on the call, be so cavalier about these issues—joking about what is an abomination to God? I don’t claim to know God’s thoughts—they are beyond us—but I’m confident that there is nothing in this mess that God would approve of. Let me say it again: this behavior in the group is an abomination to God (Ezekiel 22). Let that sink in.
How can this ministry not be aware of the false doctrine of LWD (Living Witness Doctrine), including the “expulsion” of Ed Clooney, workers, and saints in the 1930s over this very issue? Ed lamented over the LWD—and he was correct. The group eventually admitted he was right by changing their position, yet never issued an apology. How is that being led by the Spirit or Christ-like?
Wm. Irvine did not come to this way through a worker. He had a revelation after being involved with the Faith Mission. This kind of thing has occurred repeatedly since the time of the last apostles. Read The Pilgrim Church by E.H. Broadbent if you want to trace the Apostolic ministry from Paul (the last apostle) onward. The Pilgrim Church was written by an itinerant minister who brought the gospel and started home churches in Germany and Russia in the early 20th century.
The current ministry are not apostles, but ministers—shepherds of this group. I respect the honest and transparent ministers of Christ. The last apostle was Paul, as he himself stated. Maybe the 80,000 versions of the Bible—our last direct connection to Christ—could be considered the “last apostle”?
I’m appalled by the joke about Cynthia Liles. If it weren’t for the work of Cynthia, Sheri, and Lauren, this situation would have continued as an abomination to God. Can you even begin to fathom that? Has anyone considered that God may have used these women to begin purging this group?
I love fellowshipping with others who have a love for Christ and seek a relationship with God. I love to worship around the emblems in a home. I always believed that a ministry led by the Holy Spirit could correct itself. I am closely connected to Sheri Jo and Cynthia through family. I was aware of some of the indiscretions (more than indiscretions!) in California, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho, and Washington, and believed they were being dealt with honestly—but apparently not.
I’m appalled at the tone of this Zoom call. The apparent effort by some to hide this Zoom call speaks to the dishonesty of the participants. What are you embarrassed about?
These women—or anyone who has lost confidence in the ministry—should not be condemned or ridiculed in any way. Has anyone considered that this could be God’s way of initiating a worldwide cleansing of this group (hopefully)? How would we face the God of Heaven if we were part of a group carrying such an abomination?
Only Christ can reconcile us. Maybe we should wipe the slate clean and start over. Wm. Irvine started this—if God wants it to, it can be started again.
Here are some notes and references on The Pilgrim Church and its author Edmund Hamer Broadbent, who was a Plymouth Brethren missionary in the early 1900s. These might be useful for people wondering about the purported “shores of Galilee” origins of our own church and ministry, which appears to be part of the beliefs of other church groups, too:
You can read the Pilgrim Church book on line: https://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks10/1000351h.html Read Chapter 10 on the Vaudois/Waldenses. They have 1800 years history of Jesus/Paul 2×2 New Testament Itinerant ministry. They posted their beliefs, ministry and how they operate for centuries like the early days 2×2 workers. Check it out.
